Higher Yield in Real World Conditions

Consistently achieve 5-15% more power by reducing losses from shading, dust coverage, and obstructions. SUNERGY is the only high power inverter that effectively eliminates the “weakest link” effect between panels.

The PARALEX System

Solar panels connected in parallel achieve maximum energy production by isolating losses to affected panels.  Conventional systems suffer from a “weakest link of chain

Solar Power System Performance Factors

Solar power systems experience variations in performance due to a number of factors.  The parallel architecture made possible by SUNERGY inverters prevents losses from typical performance factors, ensuring maximum energy production over the system life.

Shading and Obstructions

Solar power systems can be exposed to partial shading from rooftop obstructions such as antennas, chimneys or HVAC equipment.  There can also be external sources of shading such as trees, overhead wires, snow, fallen debris or dust build up that can significantly affect performance of one or more modules at a given time.

Without parallel architecture, any partial shading will dramatically reduce performance of the solar power system.  PARALEX allows the system to capture all available power from modules, whereas conventional systems using series architecture are limited by lower performing modules.

Mismatch

Solar panels also experience variations in performance due to manufacturing tolerances which typically range from 3-10 percentage points of the panel’s nominal power output.  PARALEX allows higher performing panels to contribute to overall system yield, rather than being limited by the lowest performing panel.  The improved yield with PARALEX can be 2-3% higher due to mismatch losses alone

Array Degradation

Solar panels degrade over time.  Although panels are generally warranted for 90% power output after 10 years and 80% after 25 years, the actual rate of degradation is often lower on many panels in a system.  This means that differences in energy output from panel to panel increases over time, and increases the need to capture full power output from mismatched panels.  While a conventional system will experience energy yield degradation at the rate of the lowest performing panels, PARALEX will capture full energy from the different panels over the entire system life.
