Q.  What is the process for approving domestic content in a FIT or MicroFIT contract?

A.  When you submit your FIT or MicroFIT application you are required to submit a plan for meeting domestic content.  Even if you have already submitted a plan for domestic content that did not include SUNERGY inverters, you may change your product selection prior to installation.

Following the installation of your solar power system, the OPA requires the submission of a domestic content report, explaining how your system met domestic content.

Q.  Can Sustainable Energy provide proof of Domestic Content in advance of installation?

A.  The OPA`s rules for domestic content state that inverters will qualify where the assembly, final wiring, and testing have been done in Ontario.  All of these requirements are met with SUNERGY inverters.

For further clarification, the OPA provided an interpretation for "assembly" stating that the following subcomponents must be fully integrated in Ontario: Circuit boards, enclosure, housing, enclosure lid

At present the OPA has not offered a formal accreditation process to guarantee domestic content compliance in advance of system installation, however, Sustainable Energy has reviewed all domestic content rules and interpretations and completes all of the designated activities in Ontario as required.
