Inverter Size and System Design Information

SUNERGY inverters are rated 5 kW with scalability for solar projects of all sizes including commercial and industrial rooftop and ground mount applications.  The extra energy yield harvested with parallel architecture is most efficiently delivered to the grid by using a distributed architecture with inverters located close to the array.  As a result, SUNERGY inverters have a 5 kW power rating, allowing the optimum balance of reducing DC wiring and inverter cost per Watt. 

The 5 kW array of solar modules including the SUNERGY inverter creates a building block that can be scaled to any size of project, typically from 5 kW to 10 MW.

Inverters can be mounted on the back of racks for solar panels or wall mounted.

Safety Benefits

Inverters are mounted within the array, reducing DC wiring, and providing safety benefits for end customers in isolating all DC independently energized wiring to the solar array.  Furthermore, all hazardous high DC voltages are eliminated.

Maximum Flexibility

The system design approach provides virtually unlimited flexibility in planning a solar power system for maximum use of available space.

    • 5 kW building block allows coverage of any size rooftop, as opposed to trying to match the array size to discrete power ratings of central inverters
    • Parallel architecture further improves flexibility by allowing modules to be added or removed to each 5 kW building block without complex string sizing calculations
    • Resistance to partial shading with parallel architecture allows maximum coverage on rooftops.  Unlike conventional inverter technologies, systems using SUNERGY inverters allow power losses to be isolated to the modules in which they occur
